RRC Hosts Update to T4 Shapefile Requirements Webinar on January 10

December 06, 2023

In response to Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s rule amendments to 49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 192, regarding Transportation of Natural and Other Gas By Pipeline, all T4 shapefiles with NGG (Natural Gas Gathering) lines will be required to include several new attribute fields. The Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) has launched a new internal GIS toolbar to validate these new attributes at the end of January 2024. After this date, any shapefiles submitted to the RRC missing the new required attribute fields will be rejected.

To help pipeline operators understand these new requirements, the RRC will host a free webinar entitled Update to T4 Shapefile Requirements at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

The webinar will cover a variety of topics, including:

  • new shapefile attribute fields required for gas gathering lines;
  • rule amendments to 49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 192;
  • updated C-LTR Form; and
  • additional Pipeline Mapping FAQs.

The webinar is free, but registration is required. Registrants are required to register using their work email address.
