RRC OIL Enhancement –

Download Results to Excel

April 23, 2019

The Railroad Commission of Texas Online Inspection Lookup (RRC OIL) has a new enhancement. Users can now download query results to Excel. For instructions, view page 14 of the RRC OIL User Manual available on the RRC website.

RRC OIL, which launched in January 2019, is our online, searchable database of oil and gas inspection and violation data. The tool is a big step forward in transparency for the RRC and for the people we serve, the citizens of Texas.

For the first time in RRC history, anyone, anywhere at any time can access this important information with the push of a button or click of the mouse. RRC OIL users can search inspection or violation information by a variety of criteria, including:

  • Operator name;
  • Lease name or number;
  • API number;
  • County;
  • RRC Oil and Gas District number;
  • Inspection date range, and;
  • Rule.

The data pulls from the RRC’s Inspection, Compliance and Enforcement Tracking System, which was implemented in August 2015. To view RRC OIL, visit the RRC website

Questions regarding a specific inspection or violation should be directed to the Oil and Gas District Office responsible for the area in which it occurred. For questions about RRC OIL, reference the User Guide on our website or contact Keith May in the Oil and Gas Division at 512-463-2892 or Keith.May@rrc.texas.gov.
