Internship Opportunities at RRC
The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking unpaid, volunteer interns. Interns assist in Commission projects related to permitting and regulating the Oil and Gas industry. The Commission offers interaction with engineers, geologists, GIS mapping technicians and professionals in other areas in an effort to enhance interns' knowledge of Commission rules and regulations.
An intern must be enrolled in a course that provides academic credit for the internship at a post-secondary educational institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. A list of such institutions is at https://www.ed.gov/.
Interns must be able to review and organize technical information and have the ability to pay attention to detail. Successful interns will gain working knowledge of how applications and reports for oil and gas related activities are reviewed, processed, and otherwise managed. Interns are assigned to the Commission's different Oil and Gas sections based on their qualifications, course of study, and the Commission's scheduling and business needs.
Interns work at the William B. Travis Building, 1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin, TX. Applicants for internships must provide proof of their legal right to work in the United States. The Railroad Commission of Texas does NOT sponsor applicants, interns, or employees for Visa applications.
To apply for an unpaid internship, listed below, complete and submit an Internship Application. Completed internship applications can be emailed to: recruiting@rrc.texas.gov
